"Shik, listen to this hyung," Yunho tries to placate the crying child. "Dr. Jin can save your mother. Just have a little faith."
"But you can't live off faith!" the child rebuttals.
Yunho stills. He knows the child means only to refute any possible comfort by spitting it back in his face, but this statement hit somewhere deeper than Yunho anticipated.
"Why can't you have a little faith?" Jaejoong sighed on the other line. "This can't be done immediate or just in the next few months, but didn't we say we'd stick together on this?"
"Jaejoong-ah," Yunho remembers his cold reply. "It's been three years. You're doing just fine on your own. Why bother with this?"
"Yunho, can't you just have a little fa-"
"No, Jaejoong, you listen," Yunho remembers saying. "I can't live off faith alone. No one can."
Yunho squeezes his eyes shut to dispel the unbidden memory. He forces himself to think about the Joseon era, Dr. Jin, Shik, and most importantly, Kim Kyungtak.
He wasn't in the modern era anymore. He doesn't know if he'll ever go back. He doesn't know if Jaejoong even wants him back anymore. There were too many things he didn't know. So he'll just focus on what he does know.
He knows that Shik's mother is about to die. He knows that Shik is scared out of his mind. Jung Yunho didn't know much but he knows something's up when Young Rae runs out of the dirty shack.
"Dr. Jin wants me to fetch his--"
"Let me," Yunho insists.
"Wait, do you even know your way back?"
"Uh, I-"
"Let's go, you can run back faster can't you?" Young Rae asks, beginning to run.
Yunho follows behind. As he runs, his mind starts wandering.
Yunho was being a complete, utter bastard that day. Not to the staff or the manager of course, but to Changmin. Only to Changmin.
"What the hell is your problem?" Changmin finally asks during one of their brief breaks. No one particularly paid them any attention but even so, Changmin still spoke softly. "Did you get in a fight with Jaejoong-hyung or something?"
"No," Yunho replied stiffly.
"You did," Changmin sighs. "What is it this time? Not meeting up enough? More rumors of a girlfriend? JYJ's decision-"
"Changmin," Yunho warns. While truthfully they allowed to talk about whatever they'd like, there were some things that were better discussed in private.
"Hn, hit the nail right on the head," Changmin says, shaking his head. "I told you to stop thinking about that. They have their reasons. It's not like we go over everything we do with them."
"So you're okay with just waiting?" Yunho said, much more bitterly than he intended.
"Weren't you the one who was okay with waiting?" Changmin asks. "When they left, I definitely wasn't the one who was okay with how it ended. But I was the youngest, what could I have said?"
"You're wordy today," Yunho sighs after a long pause.
"And you're being an ass," Changmin replies without skipping a beat.
"Jaejoongie started it," Yunho mumbles like a child. He could almost feel Changmin rolling his eyes.
"Yet you still love him," Changmin says as though its the most obvious thing in the world and Yunho can't come up with a proper response other than:
"I do."
Yunho looks up and realizes Young Rae had disappeared. Oops. He looks around in a panic, trying to look for landmarks. He sees none. Looks like he was completely lost.

Arg, I got sick .____. The weather here is bipolar I swear. For three days, it's sweltering hot and the next week, it's raining like no tomorrow. My relatives are laughing at me for being 'weak and fragile'. Thanks. >_< Way to make me feel better guys.
Sorry for my mini rant, I tend to be rather uh...ill-tempered when I'm sick.
