[Drabble] Boundaries [6/?]
6. Begin
He learns the exact date Yunho leaves and it takes him a week to pluck up the courage to send the younger man a text.
Hey, Yunho, this is Kim Jaejoong. I heard your leaving for Japan! /(^o^)/ Good luck! Japanese fans are very kind if you get them on your side, so be sure to charm them ^^
He reads it and rereads it. For only meeting twice, it sounded way too familiar, but this was how Jaejoong was to everyone. Generally, he was the social one with a lot to say and a lot to love. But whenever he meets Yunho-granted they’ve only met in person twice, Jaejoong seizes up and acts awkward.
He knew that if he opened his mouth, he would just sound like a stumbling schoolgirl with a crush. And he was fucking forty-three for goodness sake!
So he kept his mouth shut around the younger man. It was better for Yunho to think he was cold and antisocial than a bumbling idiot.
Finally pressing send, Jaejoong waits for the response. During this period, he rereads his sent text a couple more times just to check that he wasn’t being too weird.
A minute passed by and nothing.
It was evening and unless the younger man had a night schedule, he should be free. So why wasn’t he responding to the text?
Remember Yunho, they are easily charmed by powerful voices so just having a good looking face doesn’t account to much. (T.T)/ I think you and Shim Changmin will do well. He has quite a powerful scream doesn’t he? (>_o)
Five minutes passed by and nothing.
It gets lonely sometimes because you’re trying to make it as a J-pop group rather than ride the Hallyu wave. Remember to be there for Changmin because the younger ones always get depressed more easily. Of course, take care of yourself as well.
Jaejoong was getting a little desperate by the time half an hour rolled by. Growling at his phone, he laid down on the couch and stared at the device. There was no guarantee that Yunho was even close to his phone. Jaejoong didn’t know whether the younger idol was filming or working or sleeping or eating or just going about his usual business.
Still, he wanted to contact the other man.
If you ever feel lonely, you can always call me. I will always take care of my hoobae.
Ten minutes passed by and Jaejoong sighed, setting his phone aside.
Then it rang.
Jumping at the poor device, Jaejoong gasped into it, “Hello?”
“Sunbaenim? This is Yunho.”
“Ah, Yunho, how have you been?”
“Good, good. I’m sorry, I’ve been trying to respond to your texts but you text so much faster than I do. Every time I’m getting typing out a message it gets erased because I just received your next one!”
“Haha, I’m sorry. I just wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to call you,” Jaejoong says. “You might be working or something…”
“Don’t worry, sunbaenim. I just finished showering when you started texting me.”
Jaejoong felt his mouth go dry. Yunho. Shower. Wet. Towel. Nak-Jaejoong coughed.
“Eh? Sunbaenim? Are you okay?”
“Ah, I’m fine,” Jaejoong chokes out. “I heard you accepted the drama role.”
“…well I’ve always wanted to work with Jaejoong-sunbaenim. I thought this might be the perfect opportunity.”
“…” Jaejoong smiled.
“Sunbaenim?”
“It’s nothing Yunho,” Jaejoong says. He couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. “Listen, I have a busy schedule tomorrow so I’m going to say goodnight. Remember, stay strong in Japan. You’ll always have me supporting you.”
“Thank you Jaejoong-sunbaenim.”
When Jaejoong hangs up, he finds himself giggling. His phone buzzes once. A text message:
I will work hard! |(>o<)/
And he falls a little bit more.

BTW, sorry for the confusion.
The Award show Jaejoong hosted was at the end of the year. So the sequence kinda went like this.
1. Somebody to Love --> Sometime in the fall
2. Whatever They Say --> Sometime in winter
3. I Think U Know --> awards show/winter/end of the year
4. With All My Heart --> awards show/winter/end of the year
5. The Boy's Letter --> Jan/Feb (the drama --> March/April)
So Yunho is going to Japan for two, three months at first (kind of like a preparation trip) before coming back to Korea to do the drama and then when he leaves after that, he'll be in Japan for the 2 years or so.
