I shot a bunch of guns today, it was awesome. I'm not turning into a Republican or anything, but it's good to take part in cultures that you are unfamiliar with. Especially if you have an opinion about that culture. It was a fun time even though I didn't see any elk...

Anyone who still reads this should know that I finally got word from the Peace Corps and they're sending me to Uganda leaving March 2nd! I'm going to be a rural health worker. So a few entries back I vented about the guy who hit my car. Well all is good because yesterday I got what was coming to me; a fat check! The insurance company determined that it was his fault and should compensate for the damage to my car. So anyone who has ever been in my bedroom (no jokes, this is serious!) knows that I have this lamp that does not work properly. The wiring is all screwed up and you have to fiddle with it to keep the light on. So I just got in a car accident. I AM PISSED! I'm ok, but I am PISSED! It's HIS fault and I had the right away. So on Friday I did my first solo babysitting of my 2-year old nephew Gus at my non baby friendly apartment. This was a huge success. Not only did I not let him play with oven cleaner, I got him to stop crying and stay entertained! You know that you've been an apartment manger too long when you walk out of a unit that you just cleaned and say to yourself: "Damn! I didn't get to us that new all-purpose cleaner I got! Oh well, I'll try it in the next one..."
