WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY AND IPOD OR APPLE PRODUCTS!

Apr 26, 2007 17:50

I bought the IPOD 60 GB with the two-year Apple Care warranty in December of 2005. Six months later in May of 2007 my IPOD froze up on me and quit working. The people at the "Genius Bar" at Somerset Mall had no idea what was wrong with the IPOD and had no advice how to prevent this problem from occurring in the future. This resulted in the Apple ( Read more... )

aww jaybirddddd. apple is amazingggg. ive had like 10 ipods, since i like to upgrade anytime something cooler is out, but theyve always fix mine right quick, same with my ibook, thank god. lord knows id pitch a fit if it stopped working, but my cord broke 2 times and they gave me new cords no problem. i would have been hella pissed if i had to pay 200 bucks for a new cord!

if youre mean, theyll do whatever you want them to, though. dont be so charming and you can get a free ipod forever.

if you would have said that, they would have given you a brand new one with a new warranty. haha, when i bought my ibook i already had a ipod, but then they gave me the newer ipod for free with my ibook and then i convinced her to let me return my old ipod and get my money back, keep the new one and use the students discount even when i wasnt in school.

i've got one that survived being in a car that blew up or something. it doesn't like cold weather too much but otherwise its pretty good.

That totally sucks. My iPod shit the bed once too, and luckily I was able to get most of the music off before they wiped the drive, and onto an external harddrive, which I HIGHLY recommend. I have a 250gb harddrive now that only cost like $100 or so, and I back my entire computer and iPod up on it every few weeks (automatically, it can do it while I'm sleeping). This becomes extremely important when you consider digital photography. Before, if my comp had crashed, I'd have lost every picture I took in the last 3 years!

Anyway, besides the iPod being as vulnerable as a baby bunny, I've had great experience with Macs. My MacBook is the best machine I've ever owned. Good luck with that iPod!

yeah this whole customer service experiance just really discouraged me. my dad said the same thing with backing things up and i am tempted to get that external hardrive for a hundo.

I hear about that happening to people all of the time, with their iPods. The same thing happened to two of my sisters and the store at Somerset told them both to "just buy a new one". Apple told my friend Nicole that it wasn't her iPod that was the problem, it was her computer.... so "go out, get a better computer and call us back". I thought that was bullshit.
