Goose Liver

Here's my little rant for the day:  goose liver.  I got a request to join a group on Facebook for a "Fois Gras Free Madison."  Now at first I believed this to be a joke.  Fois gras, for those of you who don't know, is typically goose or duck liver and is served as a French delicacy (not my particular favorite dish, but its good).  This dish has ( Read more... )

Have you joined a group about the safety of students? Have you done anything? Most Americans just sit on their asses and let the world pass them by. You post a blog, but really what have you done? Stand up, fight for Darfur, support our troops, defend the goose liver, do anything...but don't just write a blog. Come on.

Apparently you don't know me very well (and are somewhat of a coward since you can't even put your name on the post). Yes I have done many things and not just sit on my ass and let the world pass me by. I have stood up and fought for things, I do belong to many groups, I do volunteer, donate to charities, and think of others. But once again...apparently you don't know me very well.

You're making the assumption that anyone who writes a blog about a topic they care about is not 'really' doing anything about it. To be fair, one could say the same for you - you're commenting on her blog. I'm not going to make a claim about whether you're 'really' doing anything because, apparently unlike you, I am not going to accuse someone that I don't know well (or not at all, since you haven't left your name). Think about it, though.

Also, what's wrong with writing about it? Especially when she IS already doing a lot. I personally hadn't even heard about the issue until I read her blog, so she just educated one more person on the matter, whether she agrees with it or not. I've seen people get criticized for writing before, whether it be a blog or an opinion article. Are you suggesting no one should do this?
