THE FLYING DUTCHMAN. Maria and her ipod, Joe being all emotional. Mr. Dzeko. Oh my god Mr. Dzeko Edin and Aleks are absolutely perfect in this, I love them! MILNER/SILVA I CAN'TTTT. I love how Silva still finds Milner slightly mysterious, but they're both such rocks for each other.

More than anything, though, I just love how much you can tell that you get City and what this team is about. All that stuff about misfits and being considered a joke. Constantly stuck at the bottom of the league but fighting for each other, that, that is what City is about. Fuck the money and fuck the media and their slander campaigns about our club. You captured the nuances of City identity so so well here and I absolutely love you for it. I got goosebumps when Vinnie put on her helmet and led the team out. If we don't win the league this year I am going to cry forever (and probably punch someone in the face) but just, whatever we achieve, I love this team so much ;_______

:333 I'm glad that you saw the bits about what City is about. And it's so so so so true and I think a lot of people just don't get it (or don't want to get/see it). As someone who came from the outside a few seasons ago and really fully started supporting them last year (as opposed to watching when I had time), I've really been floored as to how inviting and nice the community is. The supporter groups here in Seattle and in DC are just fucking amazing and I love being apart of them and there's a level of togetherness I never got with another club. Every time someone makes fun of me for supporting City, I brush it off because we can and do laugh at ourselves and other teams don't seem to be able to do that because we've been at the bottom before and don't have to take it so seriously. And I'm going off on tangents again... oh dear

But I'm really really glad you enjoyed this because I loved writing it <3

Even before the money City had a reputation for having amazing fans, so I'm glad that still holds true for you and you feel part of the community. Don't ever let anyone try and belittle you for supporting City, we have real heart and I'm just so happy you came to love this club :)

I love how clever you are with the names. I don't even know what half the roller derby terms mean but I don't care. I love it still. I think the Ray Hudson reference was my absolute most favoritest thing because I LIVE for Ray Hudson's commentary. I want him to do a play-by-play of my life. So A++ for this my dear.

One of my favorite images. This was just a fantastic read, loved the names, the pairings-truly inspirational how you made a roller derby team so...City. There's too much to c&p as far as faves-crazy Maria and her celebrations, Silvia/Milly, nerdy Edin & badass Aleks, Samira and the Eiffel Tower, lol. ♥♥

Edin/Aleks just makes me flail. I love them. I wanted to make Edin into a girl but then I thought about Edin on roller skates and almost died laughing. Thus the birth of nerdy kindergarten teacher Edin.

They just work so well as a roller derby team. It's kind of alarming but soooo perfect kekekekekeke
