(I am: or at least raised Jewish, going to a Jewish prep school, and in the once Jewish, always Jewish sense, but I'm not sure about the actually agreeing with the religion part)

What's hashomer? I think that means something like 'the guardian,' but I still wouldn't know what that actualy means. At my school right now, we call whatever faculty person's on call for emergencies and stuff the shomer, but I'm thinking that's just my school.

hi! I'm pretty much decided that I'm going to Simon's Rock next year. are you excited? I can't wait to get out pf high school....anyways. your right, that os the translation of hashomer, but you're also right that it means something else. we're a secular socialist-zionist youth movement. so i guess I'm in a similar boat as you, I don't do much religous stuff, but cukturally I'm really jewish, and even more israeli. I also went to jew school until 8th grade. Im me sometime, my screenames the same as my lj username.
