As I'm approaching what my mother calls a "millstone" birthday, I am now the proud owner of a new laptop (!!!) from my parents. I got the cheap model from Dell. It's already crashed a couple of times

Whatever it was, I think it's better left unsaid. Too much contemplation tends to keep me from making any decision at all. This way, I actually acquired the thing I wanted without too much agonizing.

Yeah, my grandfather used to like to talk about a "millstone" rather than a milestone birthday. He wasn't really an unhappy man -- just had a wry sense of humor.
