I'm quite fond of the story of my initiation to this awesome show... And since it's a tad long (not excessively, but enough), I'll post the link here :) I started watching BSG... anyway, it was Summer 2010.
I reckon I acquired my addiction some time after March 2005 after my sister ordered me point blank to watch it- The mini and series one had aired on SKY1 in the UK- so I sat and had a solitary DVD fest. She saw great sci-fi, from the mini I saw great sci-fi but also Roslin and Adama and was hooked well and truly by the start of airing season two in the U.S. My addiction has lasted 6 years and shows no sign of diminishing thank the gods.
I began my love affair with Battlted to watch battlestar when I was still in college. It was during the first season. I was flipping channels in my dorm room and the opening credits caught my eye because of Eward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell. So, I started to watch and from there I was hooked. After the series ended I was so addicted to the show I actually missed Laura.
I also want to make it a point to say that I have never seen chemistry between actors the way it comes across with Eddie Olmos and Mary McDonnell. They made that show for me!! As far I'm concerned SCiFi could have done the Adama/Roslin hour and I would have been satisfied.
Started watching at the end of 2005 when they first showed the mini series and the first season here in Germany. Used to watch the old battlestar with my mom when i was a kid and just had to give the new series a try and boy was it worth it.
Saw a preview for the mini with my husband in 2003 and watched the first part when it aired for the first time the next night -- hooked ever since (watched the entire series in real time, though I do admit to downloading eps when The Space Network decided to air S2 six months after SciFI). Listening to a podcast of RSII caused me to wonder if anyone else loved this older couple as much as I did. I ended up on the A/R thread on Skiffy, then over to LJ :D.
