I just saw an extremely thoughtful and thought provoking documentary.  "Who Does She Think She Is?"  addresses the subject of Women in art by posing several versions of the cliched question '(How) can you have it all?'  How can one be  a successful woman, artist, partner, friend and mother? A friend is doing something amazing that all of us can get behind...not only is she a Good Asian Driver and advocate for the GLBT community, she also orchestrated an Avocado Fiesta.  Go vote for her video!  Only a blackhearted person doesn't love avocado fiestas.

New Year's Day Brunch...the same recipe as I posted here with spinach and caramelized onions in place of squash and leeks.  Home made crust...pretty easy and cheaper than buying ready made crusts at the market.

There's a shoe store in town having a good news sale.  If you walk in and give the owner a piece of good news, she gives you $10 off a pair of shoes.  Some of the good news is pretty cool (via a neighbor):a woman getting married for the first time at 47, a woman having her first grandchild shortly, etc.  How I wish I could walk in there and say 'I' ( Read more... )
