End of the Month. End of the Line?

It is June 30th; pay day and month end. It could also be my last day with the firm. The Partners are moving their practice to the Washington, DC office and need local support. It is a very complicated set of agreements that need to be reviewed and negotiated. Regardless, your assistant cannot be 1,500 miles away and remain effective.

In our firm, month end is always the 30th. Gives accounting one more day to rectify any outstanding issues.

Oh god no. Austin is our home. David would never leave his employer. He's been with them for 22 years and makes far too much money to leave. We wouldn't be able to find anything comparable.

I'm 1,500 miles away from my DC employer and like to think that I'm very effective. :-)

Can you convince them that you would be as well? Maybe get a work-at-home deal?

Work at home has been ruled out for any staff members in our firm. Plus, I tried that for nearly two years and hated having nobody to interact with except for the cat and the butcher at HEB.

These are attorneys and they are a different breed. They literally need support that is fifteen feet away.
