It might seem that I've dropped off the face of the earth as of late, and in a way, it's true. I've entered a new world, a world with walls around it that ends abruptly as you slam the gate behind you and step out into the street. A world in which I feel instantly accepted, secure and stimulated. I'm immersed

The History Boys

I watched the film, "The History Boys" last night at the cinema. Very interesting to watch. I am wondering how Alan Bennett got the inspiration for the original play. Does one really have to be so intellectually hyper, or have family connections, to get into Oxbridge, as the film implies? I mean, how realistic is it for a group of eight-or-so sixth formers to take it in turns to recite lines of poetry?

Although I didn't comment a great deal, I just wanted to say how much I loved following you on your travels through this journal. It was a breath of fresh air at my desk in the mornings and an inspiration for me in the future.
