Oh damn, that was just gorgeous! The language is luscious, I feel like I wanted to savor every word, and the *love* Sam has for Dean comes through so loud and clear, it's breathtaking. Thank you so much, this absolutely made my day.
That was beautiful and atmospheric and hilarious, and partly about landscape and partly about the bottom line of what Dean and Sam do and partly about them being in love and annoying the hell out of each other just to show off because they are in love. And it has a lovely balance, because Dean may be insecure but Sam is mesmerized.
Thank you so much! I'm so happy that you enjoyed this one. :D

I think they do it automatically, without thinking, without even being aware that they are doing it, or at least without really knowing why. They are sort of obsessed with each other in a way that is such fun to write.

Wow, there's so much here, the whole story so rich in metaphor and symbolism, but somehow this simple, elegant paragraph really struck me.
Most of the time Dean's somewhere on the spectrum between, though, which is good because Sam's not sure whether it would be better if he always wanted to murder Dean or if he always wanted to give Dean whatever he wants, which most of the time is Sam's undivided attention; both options seem untenable.
I could quote a lot more, but I guess I'll mention how much I liked the way Sam's wanting this was dependent on Dean's adoration, the way Dean looked at him, the way he almost hadn't thought about it, and though he's not really just doing it because Dean wants it, in a way he is...
Thank you very much! I'm so glad that the characterizations worked for you, and that you enjoyed it overall.

If I might steal and then misquote a line from a movie -- I think that in many ways, they are each the only audience the other has ever needed. Which at times can be frightening, and also so fun to write. :D
I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! Thank you, very much, for the note.
especially since he finds himself so reasonable
Both of them work so well as unreliable narrators, I think; they're ridiculous about each other. I'm so glad that it worked here! And I think that the idea of being at once both jarring and calm does make sense, and I am very glad you thought that part worked, too. :D

They are codependent in so many ways, you know?
