What is your favorite part of the winter holiday of your choice?

Mine is scoring the perfect gift for someone, having it be a total surprise, and seeing their reaction when they unwrap it.

For the last 10 years... driving around on Xmas eve so we can look at all the neighborhood light displays together.

Runner-up is being able to have a better appreciation of my own family with you present.

That's my favorite part, too, but that's not necessarily specific to the Winter holidays for me. thirdbase's cookies, though. Man.

Yeah, I like it a lot whenever I manage it, but the odds of it happening go up a lot this time of year.

Oh, there is so much! The perfect gift is always in the top 10, but I also love snow (to me, snow and Christmas go hand in hand); specifically snow in the moonlight, just as the storm is letting up. I love the smell of pine tree as I walk in to the house and sitting in front of the tree with all the lights out, having hot cocoa. I love seeing gifts that I knew were perfect still be used years later (it's kind of included; it reminds me of specific Christmases). I love getting to see my extended family. I love the food.
