Best thing you've written so far, especially the poignant first half of the chapter.

I think it's not an abrupt or unbelievable departure, though. It's completely realistic and written very well. I think to end this any other way would actually feel a bit odd, you know? \o/ SO NOT FIRED YAY GO ME!

Yeah, but look at the reward he gets at the end. Poor Chloe. He's found what and who he needs, and he's finally found himself. I think he'd say it was all worth it.

I'm sure the Velvet Under World characters will end up being completely wrong, but it was fun to write them anyway.

lovely job you did here - love the first half of the chapter where it's a nightmarish/dreamscape sort of feeling to it, and then when they built their new organization, all hard facts and to the point.

and my heart melted a little at the mention of yoji ...

There's a link to the official Velvet Under World site under the picture, so you can go over there and check it out. I'm not even sure if the anime is actually being worked on yet, but it has the character names on the site and what their specialties are. I made up their backgrounds, etc.

No one really knows what VU is going to be, but of course there is speculation that it's somehow linked because the main character is named Aya. I decided to connect them for this fic, but I doubt that there will be an actual connection between the two. It was fun though!
