One of my workmates does home brewing. He's been talking about it a bit. I decided to have a bit of a go. Now I'm not really much of a beer drinker, and to be honest it looks pretty complicated, so I thought I'd have a go with some of these.They're lids to fit standard PET bottles, with a rubber valve in them. You can get homebrew ginger beer kits, that you can use standard "kit" homebrew equipment for. (Both alcoholic/non-alcoholic).

(You can get the fermenter + plastic bottles + other bits and peieces for ~$100 from a homebrew shop)

A few places also do cider homebrew kits as well!
(Extract/kit brewing is easy, you just need a) good sanitisation! b) good temperature control, at least consistant over ~5-7 days)

Yeah, there are a few recipes for ginger beer floating around for Oztops. I think the main problem I'll have is temperature. Might have to get a heat pad or something. As for sanitisation, I'm think all the years of practicing aseptic technique when growing bacterial cultures should serve me well!

Hmm, the most important thing with temperature is consistancy.. Had that problem with the first few batches of mine :|
