No big deal to those who live in the northern climes, but for us here, this is nothing short of miraculous. It's snowing---in Houston.

Thanks! It was awesome for those of us raised in an area where snow is a rarity.

It's supposed to snow here tonight. Alex was so disappointed that it wasn't snowing this morning. Did the schools close over there?

Did you get the snow last night?

The schools in our district stayed open even though our county was one forecasted to receive the greatest amount of snow. We picked the kids up early so they could play in the snow at a nearby park. They had a blast.

We DID get snow last night! It was so late though that the kids didn't get to play in it and of course now it's all sunny. Wonky weather. The schools did let the kids out at 1pm because of the icy rain we were getting.

Was thinking about you this morning. Miss you!

When are you coming to visit me? I know Wills would love to see Alex again. I can take a day or two off with some notice, so just let me know.

Only if you've had snow. :D

We got down to 25*F last night--abnormally cold for this area, especially this early in winter.

North Houston only had a little snow because there wasn't enough moisture. South Houston and Galveston had the moisture but too much warmth, so they mostly got rain. We were one of the luckier counties with just the right conditions.

No, X-mas was rather warm last year. On December 10th of last year, far north Houston saw a tiny bit of snowfall, but we had nothing on this side.

Oops. Make that north Houston had record snow fall last year - record being something like 1" - which for here is ZOMG-worthy. :D

Quick! Run out and eat some! Even if you have to scrape it up with a spoon.

My son ate some. We laughed at his expression when he was holding it and trying it out--sort of like "What kind of cheap set-up is this? A sno-cone with no flavoring?"
