Awesome sauce

No big deal to those who live in the northern climes, but for us here, this is nothing short of miraculous. It's snowing---in Houston.

Slogic said you all had snow on Wednesday but it didn't stick. Dallas gets a lot of icy weather.

Love, you got snow earlier than Scotland. Are there any reports of X-Men in the area?

Put in that perspective, that's just too awesome for words. :D No X-men reported in the area, but watching people's expressions of wonder as they took in all the snowfall was priceless. I know I looked the same.

Hey, did you ever receive the e-mail I sent you about a month ago?

The one on the 13th? Yes, and I suck - I've had my reply to you sitting in Drafts ever since. I'm done with my Christmas shopping for today so I'll write you back tonight!

You don't suck. I figure you've been as busy as I have so didn't want to bug you, but I started to worry. I'm about to check my e-mails.

Congrats on finishing your X-mas shopping. I'm envious. I've barely started.

Weather conditions condusive to snow are so rare here, it's a shock when it actually does happen. The news started predicting it on Wednesday, but few of us believed it. It got down into the mid 20s last night, a record low for us this early in winter. Of course they're predicting we'll be back in the low 70s by Tuesday. Our temperature swings are a constant source of conversation here.

We did!! It was fantastic. Here's one of the pictures posted on a local news site. For us, this is like a blizzard:

We had snow on Wednesday - it didn't stick - but it's not so unusual for us, but for you, it's like a Christmas miracle. ;P

It was so cool. The kids weren't just thrilled; they were ecstactic.

The last time we had any snow of note in this area was in 2004, on X-mas eve!
