Mark Growden's playing at the Climate Theater on Wednesday. He and his sextet just finished a several day rehearsal retreat. This Wednesday they're playing one local show at the Climate Theater before going into the studio to record their album.

I can tell you, I attended the show in Santa Rosa yesterday evening with Elusis and the performance was warm and charming and clean.

Despite the fact that M makes it sound as though the performance were a rather nice prostitute (and, to be fair, who doesn't like rather nice prostitutes?), it really was superlative. Old church turned artists' retreat, empty sanctuary with a stage up front. We wound up sitting on pillows dragged off a couch in another room because they ran out of chairs, which was fine because we got to sit directly in front of Miles and watch him play guitar.

The 6-piece sound, if you didn't get to Sex and Culture to hear it, takes the music to a whole new level. You will just DIE.

Also, I will die if this album doesn't materialize, like, next month.

I wish I could go. He played my benefit and he doesn't even know me, which has caused me to love him without even knowing him.

If I ever meet him I will immediately kiss him on the cheek.
