So, they had Miss Cordelia's funeral. Wasn't invited, of course.

But that wouldn't have really been your place, would it? I mean, I wouldn't be able to leave the building unless the bossman and the senior partners said so.

I know the bossman had a lot on his mind, so I'm trying not to take it too personal. Still, an invite would've been NICE...

You know, I'd heard she'd changed alot over the last few years. Somehow, I still don't think that the Cordy I knew would have wanted the hired help there until AFTER the service was over.

Someone has to clean up, right?

Um, here's a thought...

Most people don't have "invitations" to funerals. There tends to be an open-door policy. Traditionally, having "invitations" to a funeral is considered to be a tad tacky....

Well, as I said, I can't leave the building unless I'm allowed to. Just part of the job, you know. Besides, I wouldn't have felt right about going, without being asked by those who knew her better. I mean, I never said a word to Miss Cordelia... at least not when she was awake.

What did you say while she was asleep?

Complete rubbish, mostly. You know, telling her what was going on at the firm while I was mopping the floor of her room and such. They say talking to comatose folks helps them stay in touch with the world, so I was just doing what I could.

Ain't saying I was the girl's best friend. I just always hoped I'd get to see her wake up, you know?
