what compels someone to seek old friends on these things? lately I've been browsing some friends' friends' lists on myspace and noticing some kids I used to know back in highschool and before that. The thought of adding these kids to my friends list has crossed my mind. Then I get to thinking that the idea is stupid. After all, if our relationship ( Read more... )

Some say that's what the internet has done to us... provided a sense of connectedness, while making us more individually isolated than ever before.

Sometimes I feel like I would get more out of 'friending' total strangers, or reading journals from people I don't know. Maybe I would get more out of it, instead of the sense of guilt that I don't know the people I used to know.

yeah, so far its helped me meet a local band up here in portland, what with the pictures and all, and I like to keep the friends online strictly to people I've met or am bound to meet in a short future, come to think of it, I think there's only one person on my myspace that I havn't met, but I think I'll be meeting her at the end of january.
Yeah, I suppose it doesnt' help that I've never liked phones either, so in that sense, I do like these online connections with people I know.
