i am starting to pack up my things. being the pack rat that i am, i figured i should get started early so that i have time to sort through all the nooks & crannies where i've hidden things. i'll be signing a lease for an apartment above my restaurant today. i can never be late again. it's smaller than i'm used to; living in a loft for over a year

good luck on everything. I think you will love living alone - it's really liberating! my favorite apt is still the studio I lived in alone in san diego. I only had it for 9 months but it was a really awesome place. the only thing I would have changed about it was for the flooring to be hardwood and not carpet. I loved decorating it too. I did the best I could within my budget at the time (age 22/23, fist job out of college). lots of ikea of course.

luckily rusty and i have the same tastes in decor - modern, clean, with touches of vintage/urban (japanese prints, nature prints, that sort of thing). we are working on a neverending project of gradually overhauling the apartment.

*hug* decorating is such a issue! we wound up with baby blue walls...ew. i didn't hate the color but i sure did feel badly for Steve!

baby blue isn't SO bad! joe & i have a lot of red & pale blue accents in our apt right now, i wonder what it'll look like when i'm gone.
