work is getting slow. they've asked people to cut down a day a week for the summer, which i signed up for. an hour later, after i did the math, i realized i'd be missing ~$400 a month. i know that extra $400 usually goes to frivolous purchases like clothing, shoes, beauty supplies, etc that isn't really necessary. i figure being on a strict budget ( Read more... )

i need to make a budget, my spending isn't quite out of control yet, but i noticed i dipped into my cushion in the last week. going to start a savings account today.

do any of you have monthly budgets? i don't even know where to start! give me advice!

-changed cell phone plan so i am not spending $90/mo anymore, got it down to $70ish/mo.
-finally paid midamerican electric bill

i am in a rut of sorts. i'm finally getting over the january blues & i hope the valentines day present from joe [a bike!] gets a lot of use. i'm hoping to ride every day for a bit when i get home from work, but i'm nervous about riding in the street. bikers [i am looking at you rusty & des], any advice?

things to do this year:
- get into shape in order to go hiking [get used to lots of aerobic activity, jaqui]
- buy a car
- decorate house
- snuggle with the kittehs

so, i named the kitteh maxwell. he's adjusted nicely to the household; he plays with calvin, is adorably clumsy, never tries to bite or swipe joe or me, & loves to snuggle. he's really the best kitteh i could have gotten, i love him so much! we need to trim his claws because they hurt when he milk treads me, which is usually my belly, but when i am ( Read more... )
