So every day we play this game at work where we look through the booking blotter and try to decide what crimes the people were arrested for. (all the photos are on a link from www.palmbeachpost.com if you are curious). Many of those arrested have facial tattoos- the teardrops near the eyes and the crosses on the cheeks are the most popular

The inmates I asked about it all told me that it means "only God can judge me now." This was in California though. I don't know about the habits of Floridian gang members ;)

Last year at a swim meet during a delay, I let Hayley and her friend Lexi have my blue sharpie. We use the sharpies to put their numbers on their arms so the timers and place judges can mark it down after they swim (names are too hard).

So the kids also like to add notes on their backs like eat my bubbles, go devil rays, etc. All the teams do it and it is cute.

Wellll, hayley and her friend went into the bathroom and came out with bubbles.. on their FACES.

I nearly died laughing, it look just like teardrops. I asked them if they were just out of prison and/or joined a gang. I told that jokes to about 5 people and only ONE person knew the teardrop death thing.

I like to think that NC has no crime or gang element (I have never seen any in my visits there, so I can keep myself deluded!) and when only 1 out of 5 knew about the teardrop thing, that makes me happy because it reinforces my little dream. :)
