A week from today is my first fore into throwing a party. I've been consumed by it, shopping for authentic decorations (though I had to do silk flowers because I couldn't get fresh marigolds) and icicle lights rather than the cheesy cut outs of cacti and chili peppers readily available at the party stores. well, at least your back yard is amazing now... beautiful... so you can have things out of doors too... if needed, think about a rain cover rental, they can do that if you have a week to get them to erect (heh) one. it can come off your back entry and extend as far as needed.

my grandma, and mom, both very social... would have people over all the time. but the big parties, they always had some things catered. even with a very good cook in our house too. don't be nervous. don't sweat it.

it's good you're in florida. this might not work so well in a cold yard, you know? :-)

Thanks! I plan to have it mostly outside, I'm just praying it doesn't rain! This time of year, I should be okay, but since it rained this weekend, I have my fingers crossed. I have a canopy thingy but it isn't something i can put up on my own and I don't have anyone here to help me. Maybe I can con someone into coming early....
