Political Operatives think we are stupid. The lot of them from James Carville to Karl Rove. They think you can not understand the issue or event. They feel they must frame the issue because they believe you are incapable of comprehending. They speak about image and perception and what tone to project and when to shut up. Our nation is and has been run by insecure napoleons desperately wishing to sit at the cool kids table.

That is brilliant. This is what I've been saying for the longest. Why do they think they can pull the wool over our eyes about any and everything? We're an educated and informed people, so how is it that they think they can get away with talking to us and treating us like we're manipulatable children?

Because we let them. Because we sit at home and bitch on LJ about it instead of being spurred into action. We watch the mexicans march and make our snarky little comments and then forget about it all the next day.

We all have power; we've just forgotten.

Everytime I see news coverage of protestors I scream at the tv "If you would have voted you wouldn't need to protest". I saw all these demostrations before the 2004 election and then something like 20% of the 18 to 25 demographic actually voted.

I guess I use that as armor, "hey, I voted, I did my part".

Voting can't be enough when you're forced to chose between two people you don't really want anyway. I mean, who REALLY wanted Kerry for President?

I voted, and I still protest. If Kerry had won, the government would steal be taking my money by force in order to support those who don't produce, those that don't contribute anything.

Why should all those people turn out to the polls neither candidate represents them?
