There are several good restaurants I can recommend. My favorite restaurant in Indy is a bistro called "Oh yumm." They are excellent and about the price you'd expect ($30-$40 a person). Then, there's an amazing pizza place (gourmet pizza) caleld Bazbeaux, if you're up for that sort of thing. If you want really good homestyle food there's Hollyhock Hill. The best seafood place, and probably the most expensive in Indy is called Oceanaire. It's downtown. If you're looking for good ethnic restaurants in the downtown area, there's Mikado which has good sushi (I'm told). Then, there is Santorini, which is a great greek place.
Downtown has Oceanaire, as Annie mentioned, plus McCormick and somethingorother, which is also a seafood place (though I haven't been or I would know the name). That one's very new and also very expensive.
Oooh, and there's Palomino. It's gourmet and snazzy. Um, the art museum has a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, which I've only been to for lunch, but it's got a nice view and one of those daily-changing menus. Hm. Otherwise I think there are chains like PF Chang and Cheesecake Factory and stuff.
Any particular kinds of food you're looking for? (Italian: Enrico's in Broadripple, Maggiano's in Keystone)
the wolfgang puck place is great. forgot about that one. mccormick and schmicks is JUST seafood, which you could prolly get better and cheaper back home. just my 2cts.
I would avoid Puck's like the plague. I've eaten there twice and was extremely disappointed both times. I assume it depends on what you order.
I, also, thought of the Oceanaire, even before I read the comments.
I'm a big fan of the Melting Pot, if you're into fondue.
The Eagle's Nest (located atop the Hyatt) is a true Indianapolis experience. The circular restaurant turns (very slowly) so that you see the entire Indy skyline over the course of an hour. The food is superb.
Eagles nest was the first place my dad and i looked at since my parents are staying in the Hyatt. I think we may have brunch or lunch there or something.

Does that help?

The "Oh yumm" place looked really good.
The other places also looked good - but I don't know if they are the perfect graduation dinner places for my family.
