You can now unofficially get the Ruckus Music program at Ruckus.com with an IU email address. The server is set up on campus, though the final final contract is not effective for a few more days - which is when it becomes official ( Read more... )

So, is it a free stand alone program that will charge to create CD's and stuff, or do you have to pay a fee for the version that creates music? Is there conversion software out there?

yes on all counts, although because of our respective positions within the student government, we are to direct you to legal options. I would personally do a google search with forums in the title to see who has posted about this issue.

looks like they're wma files...so you should be able to find free conversion software

So, you have to somehow remove the DRM protection too. I know you can record songs as you're playing them, but I'm still trying to figure out if there's a better way.
