I’ve met the Blue Man twice - once in Las Vegas and once in New York City. The Las Vegas meeting was my favorite because I was able to get an “autograph” - basically a big blue handprint on my poster. :-P I’ve been a fan of the Blue Man Group for many years now, and I always try and go see their show whenever I can.

Catie is my brother Chris’s ex-girlfriend. They started going out near the end of their senior year of high school and stayed together through most of their time at FSU. Karen lived a few neighborhoods away from me. I discovered this when I went to a party at her house near the end of our senior year of high school... I remember two things. Longmire was my third saxophone teacher. I quit after a month - I hated going. The entire time he would yell and scream at me (“Use the vibrato, son! What’s WRONG with you!?”) and brag about how great he was because he once played at the White House. Years later, I read in the paper that he’d been arrested for having sex with a minor.

I know Eric through Kim, Heather’s friend from her old firm. Eric is Kim’s husband, and every few weeks we’ll get together and play poker, go bowling, etc... Eric’s fun to hang with, and the pets love him because he gives them so much attention. :-) Kim and Eric go over to Biloxi every now and then... I hope we can go together one day!

I met Kristin in 2006, when I was down in Satellite Beach for Christmas. She met me and Demetrios at a Polish restaurant (Salt & Sweet) and then we watched the Emerald Bowl. That was big because I think Kris actually rooted for FSU to win! Not bad - of course, a few days later she got to see her team win the national championship.

My great-grandfather Floyd lived with his wife Elva in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia... My dad told stories sometimes about going to their house when he was a kid - something I was also lucky enough to do! We were in Jacksonville (I think) for the annual Solo & Ensemble festival, and there wasn’t much to do once we got to the hotel. So we decided to give the girls a call. I got to talk to Jennifer and Courtney, but Courtney really stood out when she told me “Wow... I never realized what a sexy voice you have!” Oh heck yeah. ;-)

Carlton worked in the photo lab at the Eckerd’s I worked at during high school. He was a character and fun to hang around, even though he was older than nearly everyone there. Still, he was probably the coworker I got along with best (besides Tom of course). He’s also a well-known photographer; his photo of the Challenger disaster was published in ( Read more... )
