Caught in the symmetry of your mind

I woke up with a start, heartbeat racing, breath quick and catching. Sitting up in bed, I wondered what it was I had been dreaming about. It wasn't often that I had a nightmare that I didn't remember, or like ever ( Read more... )

If I didn't know better I would swear she and Cordelia were conspiring against me. "I try to keep it to a minimum." What on earth was she rooting for? Was the thought of asking such a foreign concept to her?

Marking my place in the book I gave up on reading as she continued stirring amongst papers and shoving books aside. "Do you need something Faith?"

"Yep." I answered casually as my fingers slid over the familiar rectangular cardboard package. "Found it." Picking up the cigarettes, I pulled one smoke out and lit it up with the matches I'd found earlier. Taking a long drag off the cigarette, I was already feeling better by the time I exhaled the smoke.

"What're you reading?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him. Guess since Angel kicked the bucket Wes figured someone had to keep up with the minimum brooding requirement around here. At least he looked good while he was doing it. And what the hell, I was supposed to be done with that. He was obviously done with it.

"Wonderful." I remarked dryly, watching as she began puffing like a chimney. How she could partake in such a filthy habit was beyond me.

"The Ydaer Warlock Logs are, well, not anything you would find interesting at all." I was quite intent on making sure no detail of resouling Angelus could go awry this time. Who knew what effect Cordelia's dreadfull Stephen King inspired incantation may lead to. "Sleep well?" Opening the book I returned to ignoring her as I had ignored Cordelia earlier.

"Deer warlocks?" I asked raising an eyebrow at him as he set the book down. He had that pissy look again, or maybe I was just interpreting all his looks that way these days. Who even knew with him anymore. Maybe he was drunk, he threw that bottle away earlier but I bet he was hidin' some more somewhere around here.

"Yeah I did. Sorta fell into a coma, only ya know, not literally this time. How long did I sleep for?" He was ignoring me, fucking prick. Almost made me want to stay in here and annoy him some more just for the hell of it.
