I saw that I started this journal 16 years ago. I don't check this very often even though I paid for a lifetime membership. What is new? I've been working as a librarian, I'm finishing my doctoral degree, and about to turn 50! Time flies when you are having fun, I guess. Hope you are all doing great! See you around :)

Hey, uh, I don't post much
I used to LOVE Livejournal. Now, I've been on facebook for a while, and I don't love that either. Will Google+ be the answer? Maybe, maybe not. What is going on with me? The short answer is grad school right now. I've been in an Educational Leadership program, which should be done by next fall at the latest. Hopefully, this will get me on the fast ( Read more... ) -
New Kitty!
We decided to get a second kitty in July to keep Rory company. She is a sweet little tuxedo cat named Zoe. She is very gentle and loving. Rory and her do play really hard though! While Rory is very long and thin, she is shorter and solid. They are good at playing now. So here are some pictures of my new kitty!

Cons?
Have any of you guys gone to any Cons other than Dragon*Con? I've been to that and LOVED it, and also went to Convergence here in Minnesota, which was meh, ok. What other Cons are out there that you recommend? What should I stay away from? I'm thinking of trying something new this year, and I have had a group of people say that they would be ( Read more... ) -

Oh great. This morning, Rory figured out how to pull a bulb out of the LED tree. hmmm. I'm hoping not to find an electrocuted kitty at home. Must find something to spray on tree to make it taste icky. -
Pet food donations
I was thinking about how many people are abandoning their pets lately with the bad economy. People can't afford to feed fluffy or fido so they leave their house behind with their pets left inside to starve. Are they crazy? Who would do that to a member of your own family?!
