Whoooo.

Day before vacation is always oddly exhausting. But whoo, vacation!

A poll as I go: Are there any movies that portray career-focused women in a positive light? I am simply wondering. Both The Devil Who Wears Prada and The Pursuit of Happiness were on today.

"9-to-5" with Dolly Parton et al.? They were at least resiliant. And got the better of the boss. jerk boss.

"Kiki's Delivery Service" -- the bakery. And Kiki.

"Single Female Lawyer"--oh wait, that was a fake show on FUTURAMA.

"Kill Bill"? Well, the benefits were crap, weren't they?

Yes, yes, they were.

I suppose I'm mostly comparing Pursuit of Happyness and Devil Wears Prada. Both have as their point kind of home-breakery pursuit of dreams, but one is positive and one is negative and it is the dude's that is positive. Does Dolly Parton work long hours and have her husband leave her and ALIENATE HER FRIENDS (etc, etc), but it be a good thing? I don't know. I am sleepy.

I think that is at least firmly in the sort of field. Even if I was never sure whether she was triumphing a bit too much over the other 'stereotypical' law girls, at least they are allies-esh at the end.

And it sure is perky.
