Playlists

So, I'm looking for new tunes. Well, not "new"... new to me. I actually don't listen to a lot of new music. Anyway, I thought my "workout/exercise" playlist and my "stay motivated/get things done" playlist needed some refreshing. I downloaded "Eye of the Tiger" for exercise music because one of the Wii workout games I have uses it, and, duh, of ( Read more... )

I have no answer to this, but it's funny you brought up playlists. I was listening to Paradise by the Dashboard Light on my way home from work yesterday (What? That's not weird. Not at all.) and I was thinking about you putting together that playlist of duets. I never do stuff like that.

My playlists are random garbled messes of different genres of music or else a playlist of songs that are supposed to go with a story that I wrote that is obviously going to someday be a movie (no, I do not really think I will write a book that will be turned into a movie, but I still do make the playlist...it kind of inspires me to write more, for some reason).

And when I think of exercise songs, I immediately think of Olivia Newton John. Let's get physical, physical, physical. You're wearing sweat bands, right?

1) NOT weird at all! (The things I listen to in the car are... ridiculous, usually, when I'm not listening to NPR).
2) I also come up with like a soundtrack to stories I've "written" (a term I use loosely because usually the stories mostly live in my head and what I write are random phrases and notes about them on scrap paper because some day they will be my kick ass screenplay or novel or short story)
3) Physical is a GREAT suggestion. Yes, actually, in fact, not a lie, I do often wear a sweat band. (My hair is not long enough to put in a pony tail, but it still flies around annoyingly, and I sweat a lot from my head, so....)

Hmm. I totally wish I owned a sweat band now. And leg warmers.

Smashmouth's greatest hits.
Love Shack?
Walking on Sunshine?

I think I have Walking on Sunshine somewhere already, so that will probably end up on the list. Good idea!
Smashmouth ... I think I only know a couple of their songs. I probably have those ones already, too, actually.
Love Shack ... do I have that one? I'm so bad. If not, I ought to. Definitely. :)

I Gotta Feeling - Black eyed peas: this song does that awesome "ramping up in excitement" thing that I tend to really appreciate in workout songs, esp for the start of a workout. A minute or so of kind of exciting but not full-bore music, then bam, it gets super exciting and you can't help but move more!

I also like a bunch of songs on Lady Gaga's album. Most of them are great for workouts, just a couple that don't really do it for me.

Breakin Up - Rilo Kiley: this one just has a really good beat for a fast walk.
