Each night I count the ducks who sleep in the pond behind my condo.

I'm going to miss them when they depart on their southernly voyage.

A turtle lives behind our condo.

The sun rises and he climbs up on a small piece of a tire that pokes above the surface of the pond - no bigger than twice its size.

As evening approaches, he slips off into the pond.

Sometimes I think I should be jealous.
