Eeeek! That really sucks, I can't imagine how your email could be permanently lost, upgrading to a DSL circuit really shouldn't require any software installation on your computer.

sometimes even hoping one has the best help possible still doesn't work......I'm going to call you with Ray's #....he takes care of my computer and is awesome!
Ouch! Sorry to hear about the lost e-mail; that hurts. I remember losing a lot on my computer when the incompetent McAffee tech gave me some pretty screwed up instructions....and cost about a third of the data I'd had on my hard drive, some of which was irreplaceable. I really hope they managed to salvage it for you.
The one thing I've definitely learned from that is to do regular backups, especially of work-type stuff. If nothing else, CD's are cheap and a good permanent way to archive that kind of stuff.
Glad you liked the ballet. It sounds like an interesting group.
