Thoughts on LJ

I've been thinking about my presence here on LJ for the past few days, and I've made some final decisions regarding it. To reassure your minds immediately, I am not leaving LJ. But I am making some changes, and will likely make my presence here much softer.

I have had some concerns:

i'm sorry i don't comment more often...i just feel dumb a lot of the time because how many times can you say "i'm sorry/i know how you feel/" without sounding trite? i don't know. but i do like reading your entries and i think about you a lot. does that meake sense?

let me know when you open your blogblog, i have one too. mostly i just use it for updating for my friends that don't have lj and for my family but i have links to blogs on there that i like to read and iw ant to add yours. this sounds bad but i odn't know where your food blog is so where is it?

would you maybe like to start writing letters back and forth? real honest to goodness mail? :)

and yes, we must go to the zoo together, whenever we can.

This is true for me too (I have two journals on LJ). And when I look at the listing of my friends I see that many have left and no longer read or post on LJ. I think everybody is getting more spread out among sites.

I think that is true as well. LJ used to be "the in thing," now it is places like MySpace and Facebook, and so people are leaving here to go there. I know that some of the friends on my list have presences on those sites. Some have left for them for good.

I prefer the atmosphere here though. I would rather continue to keep this small group of steady friends, than be overwhelmed with social networking elsewhere.
