Signs the Age Process Has Begun

1. I need glasses. Just reading glasses, by glasses nonetheless. I've probably needed them for a long time now but I blamed it on being over-worked. Spending too much time on the computer, too much time deciphering student's handwriting, too much time wrangling with Bartok and his nonsensical notation. But seriously. Isn't eyesight the first thing ( Read more... )

I'm definitely going to have to make it over there. It's unbelievable that I haven't yet. Unforgivable even. As soon as I buy my ticket you'll be among the first to know.

I hear so much has changed for you. That's just terrific. *hugs*

That's pretty damn shamefull.... I mean... by this time next week, you'll be using a walker to get around. Next month, you'll be forgetting things left right and center... next year... adult diaper..

OH hell, can you even read this? Should I be typing in caps and making everything bold?

On the brightside, if you get back to Ireland, Specsavers are now selling hearing aids! 2 for the price of 1!!

See you at the pension queue!

Im the same :(

Im so much more concious of my health now than ever before.. I was even talking to my friend tonight about all the fads, trends that pass me by without me even being concious of it.

The sleep I still don't do, I hang onto that must stay awake as long as possible, but the naps I do.. now.. to much.

So sad.

As my friend also said to me.. just face it your getting old.

I suppose, ultimately, there is nothing wrong with it. Aging. I know I never want to be twenty-two again, as much fun as it was. I'm hoping, praying, selling my soul to Lucifer, that by the time I'm forty - erm - I'll feel the same way. My eyes may be failing me, but my life just gets better!

Right?

I think so,

I honestly can't wait to get out of the 20s and hit the 30s with a running leap.. the first half of the 20s was great, the second half is full of adult stuff lol .. that I could do without..

I'd like to stay 30 for a long long time..

My parents are used to having young kids. (My siblings are much younger than me - I was an only child for a very long time.) They talk about having to cart them around and this and that and then they look at me and realize that they have a daughter who's almost 30 and grandkids. Then they're like, "We're so old." And I'm like, "Gee thanks mom and dad." *shrug* I guess my point is it's a matter of perspective. If you think that having fine lines and a budget makes you old, then you might just be old. It (the budget at least) makes you responcible, and maybe you're just growing up a little. You don't have to be old to grow up a little. (And by a little I mean just a tiny bit not enough to not have fun.) That's no biggie - just depends on your POV and your attitudes. =)

BTW- I'm sure you knew that. I think I really just typed all that for me.

You are perfectly and brilliantly correct. Sometimes I need a reminder. 26 is far far better than 19, anyway. You couldn't pay me to go through all that bullshit again.

Oooh, I can relate to some of those. I realized about three years ago that I needed glasses (although I didn't actually see an optometrist about it until the end of last year, and I refuse to wear the glasses for anything other than driving). I also think that today's music is too loud and doesn't make any sense. I do take naps sometimes. But as for the budget thing: I used to do that all the time when I was in university. I was such a penny-pincher. I'm learning to spend now that I have a steady income, though.

Heh. I was the opposite budget-wise. It seems the less I have the more I spend. Not that I have all that much now - I'm just finding things worth saving for. Reasons to leave the Visa at home.

I've also realised how grand an accessory glasses can be. It's a whole area of shopping I've never entered before. I'm trying to see it as an opportunity!
