Truisms or, failing that, out and out meisms.

Dear Frankie as movie of the year? I hope not. But it is the best I've seen of the lot so far. I was going to dismiss it as typical sentimental mother/son sap. The kind you can find in any special of the week requiring copious amounts of tissues to get through. But it wasn't like that. It was sentimental but in an actuall feel-good manner. The ( Read more... )

the dress is all right, I suppose. For naff pastel yellow. I'll never wear it again, no matter how much the shop assistant declares it's multi-functional. At least it doesn't have any bows or petticoats.

haha funny :p.

You wouldn't think it was funny if you had to wear it. :-P But I've worn worse. At my cousin's wedding.... can you say nightmare? Pink netting... That's all I'll say on that.

Take care!

I'll never understand yellow. It looks horrible on everyone!

It really does. Well, depending on one's skin tone. Darker skin can make yellow look fabulous. However, I am not dark in any definition of the word.

It's only one day! Then I can shove it off onto Catholic Charities, erm, I mean, keep it as a sentimental token...

Hope all is well with you!

Personally, I think SATC sucks majorly and the constant whining and refusal to take personal responsibility for their own situations bugged the hell out of me. Thank goodness the relationship with the girl who liked the show didn't last :)

The problem witht the characters on that show seems to be one of general bad taste. In clothes, men, lifestyle... I wonder where they find the time to actually do their jobs with all this other stuff going on. And any real woman would've chucked Noth's ass decades ago. It just doesn't make any sense. Move these ladies outta the city and into the real world and I seriously doubt they'd be able to cope.

Besides, I was disappointed in that I'd heard it was very controversial. The only controversy I see is television's tiresome inability to portray women as strong individuals with brains and lives outside of the men they are stupid enough to hook up with. It gets a general UGH!

Sorry. I'll cease my ranting and just never watch it again.

I am glad, in a way, that I am not having bridesmaids at my wedding. I would feel bad making people spend the money and dress a certain way. But then again, I am sure there will be perks to your duty. :-)

Very glad for your friend Rory.

I don't mind being a bridesmaid, or even spending the money. Natalie is smart and sweet, she hardly chose the most expensive dress. It's something nice I can do for her, to be there on her day in support as she leaves singledom for good. It's an honour.

If I ever marry, however, I don't think I'll be having bridesmaids either. Simple is the only way to go.

Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it. It's been a difficult struggle. :-)
