So it's not so much a cocktail as it is a delectable after-dinner or rainy eve beverage but I do believe the original Shannon recipe has a place here. There are of course, many unique methods, but sometimes even I can be a sucker for the classic

I'm more of a tea drinker myself. I forced myself to like coffee in high school for naff social reasons.

You're not missing out on too much. Bailey's and milk is just as yummy. :-)

I prefare to add 2 scoops of rich vanilla ice cream. It's that little bit sweeter and then drinking the hot coffee through the cold ice cream really does add something special to it.

That sounds really, really good, and seeing as it's a cold and rainy night, I'm going to put on some coffee. All I have for whiskey is Maker's Mark, so it's going to be an Irish-American coffee.
