omg this is so heartbreaking to read
poor Ellis- he sure lived a hard life,
I'm so sorry for him for how his relationship with his daughter turned out, perhaps he can try one last time to reach her- Jesse is right- after so many years perhaps she changed her mind
it's a good thing Ellis can open up to Jesse now- feeling the good and the bad is better than feeling nothing
this is such a gripping and fascinating story- I'm so glad I'm here to read it
thanks
Paula

The life he lived and the hurt and pain and all of it alone he stood it all, yet through all of it he held onto that one love of that magic summer. Now it has to be so hard when it is within arms reach. Joe

Whew, what a life Ellis has had up to now. Such heartache, pain, anger and loneliness. Jesse has had a much easier life, but I sense he is just as lonely as Ellis. maybe they are finally ready to figure out if what they had up on that mountain was more that a bit of fun?

Thanks for your wonderful writing and unique spin on the OS - the reunion conversation in bed at night, the smoking, even a dozy embrace of sorts.

Your writing is as stunningly amazing as it was in The Outland. I've not been able to forget that story. It'll be with me forever. And odd enough, everytime I read your username I think about Heath and my heart breaks a little more.

Thank you so much for another breathtaking chapter.

You are so talented a writer that you're able to evoke a wide range of emotions in me:) I, as a reader, am speechless and I feel a genuine heartache when I think of Ellis' life. I hope he'll find some peace.
