"For twenty years all the travelling they had done had been within Ennis's small world, circumscribed by his childhood terrors, but now, as one, they had stepped beyond those boundaries and into the unknown. At last they had entered the outland."

---I am so glad that this is a true new beginning for them. I can't wait to read more. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Hope you have a Happy New Year! :) Take care!

I'm so glad you said that. I wasn't at all sure about that aspect, that they weren't quite on the same page for two weeks.

that Jack finally woke up! I had to go back and read the previous part to catch myself up - that's a sure sign that the updates are too far apart, lol! Thanks for this story; it's lovely.

Update soon!

Thank you so much, Lori. There's more of both to come, if I have my way (they don't always do as they're told, as we've all discovered :) )

I'm liking this story very much. It's so sad that Jack had to be so terribly hurt to bring Ennis to him. I'm glad Ennis has realized how much Jack loves him (the shirts) and how much he loves Jack in return.
Glad to see the confession over with. Jack's desolation as he asked Ennis to "take me home" broke my heart. Evidently seeing Jack cry finally made Ennis realize what he would be giving up if he left.
The first time they had sex was wonderful, Ennis taking over for an infirm Jack, helping him.
I hope to see Ennis, and maybe Jack, tell OMT off, and that if Ennis (the good worker) leaves, Jack goes with him and the old man will never get any help again.
It's great to see them starting on their lives together in the Outland.
Thanks for this. Happy New Year. Carole

Thank you for that, Carole. I'm actually finding Mr Twist an intriguing character to work with, so I'm as curious as you are to see how he reacts to things :)
