Your writing is SUCH a visual feast that your readers can just close their eyes and see it all. This is a wonderfully rich, detailed, focused vision of the life they might have found together if they had just managed to survive the tragedy that struck them.

Phenomenal - and tremendously addictive.

Truly one of the best.

the meeting with Randall - and loved how it was so awful, and loved how Jack wanted someone to know - that was amazing

Rob spinning out the time together and the really cool gifts - aww!

Jack's heart is just singing at the end - so satisfying

thank you!

Grat chapter. I'm so glad Ennis went to Texas with Jack. It helped a lot when it came time to say goodbye to Rob. I hope that young man can realize what Ennis and his father are to each other, and not turn against them.
Ennis meeting Randall was tricky, but Jack had a good reason for wanting it. Now Ennis knows it's really over and that Jack is his.
Thanks. Carole

Such lovely suprises in that one...I was moved to tears as Bobby was stalling off the good-bye-and you gave Lureen some real soul, with her hitched voice, when she greets Jack.

Loved the trip they take together, the 14 hours-something Ennis owes Jack.

And Ennis exhausting his conversational skills with Randall-that made me chuckle.

LOVED IT.

Absolutely everything about this story screams "authentic." The trip to Texas - and especially the meeting with Randall - are watersheds for them, but I really like how you kept the tension just simmering below the surface, never over-the-top. My heart broke for Bobby, but their good-byes had a hopefulness to them.

..two halves of a single soul.

First-rate writing all the way. Thanks.
