Gorilla Hunt

Took Dan and my nephew Brayden to the theatre this evening to see Sinbad and the Pirate Curse. Really well done production by the Theatre Royal Youth Company. The Grand Vizier stole the show with the Genie of the Ring running a close second. The show finished at a reasonable time so took the boys to see the nearby gorillas.

I just simply can't afford it this year. Maternity leave plus part time plus nursery fees does not equal a healthy bank balance :-( I wish I was coming too.

I did see the post about the kind person offering the extra place but of course it's not just that, it's the hotel and everything else and I'd rather come and know that I don't have to watch my pennies too much.

I'm also being a bit pathetic with Bets and don't really like being away from her too much - funny because it didn't bother me so much with Dan but I guess he was older when came to Writercon last time. I'm not entirely sure that she would be a co-operative member of the group and sit quietly during presentations!

No, he's there because he's a local boy made good. He's on the board at Norwich City Football Club, big supporter of all things Norwich and generally a good egg. The other side of the gorilla has Jake Humphreys but I thought the Stephen Fry artwork was better.

I love these gorrillas, so beautifully and imaginatively decorated.

We had lions a few years ago, and I've seen elephants and cows in other places too. I'd love one for my garden!

We've had elephants as well. And penguins! This is the first year Dan's been interested in doing the trail though so prepare to see more!
