and if not, what exactly is a person editor? can you like chop off limbs and give them new ones and whatnot?

Because you're good at what you do. That's being a grammatical and spelling enforcer. I think you're the best person they know.

I do like the concept of a person editor. "I think there's a little too much in the legs. (several minutes of careful carving and stitching) There, now it flows much better."

Either way, it's annoying when your roommate asks you to proofread a paper for her at 1:00am when you've been trying to get to bed, and then your suitemate the next day (whom you HARDLY EVER talk to on a normal basis) interrupts your relaxing time to ask you to proofread her paper.

P.S.

My suitemate's paper WAS CRAP.

You should charge them, 5 bucks per proof read and edit. You'd make a killing!
