I threw my back out last night. The "official" story according to Jenny is that I did it while having sex bent over the kitchen table, but it also might have happened while I was taking Bella out of the shower to get her ready for bed. Your call. But oh my god do I ever have sympathy for everyone who's ever thrown out their back. I've never ( Read more... )

You can always visit our kitties! As you remember Clawdi is an attention whore and loves loving anyone who's willing to love him. Especially if you have a brush. :-)

O.o! Been there, done that . . . just last month. I'd never done it before and it's eye opening. It's really painful. I do hope you're feeling better tonight.

I'm so sorry to read about Meeko; it's always so sad to lose a pet, but I do think you really make the right choice since her health was failing so rapidly. I do hope your mom and Dave take in another kitty, it sounds very much like they want to.

I remember reading about your experience; and I'm so glad I bounced back like I have. I'm nearly fine today, just being cautious when I need to pick things up, and I probably won't lift Bella for a few more days. But still! Eye opening is exactly how I'd describe it. I didn't know my back could hurt so much!

Meeko is the fifth kitty we've had, and the fourth we've had to put down. Three of those developed some sort of cancer! It is hard, but it would be so much harder to just listen to them meow pitifully when they're hungry and can't eat. It makes me glad we can end their suffering, when there is no cure to be had. I'm sure they will adopt a new kitty, probably in a couple of weeks when they get back from their trip to New Orleans. I've already looked at the webpages of local shelters and found some likely candidates. :)

It was so shocking to have happen, but I'll never be snooty about back pain again!

You make a great point about pets. It really does make a huge difference that we can ease their suffering. Truly I wish we were as kind to humans.
