A few days ago I went to the opticians to get my eyes tested for the first time in 6 years. As I thought, my eyesight has only changed a little bit in the intervening period so there was only a fairly small change in the prescription. I picked up the new glasses today, distant things now do seem slightly sharper than before, which is nice. As usual ( Read more... )

You can now see in HD :)

I got a new pair recently and I still reckon the peripheral vision blurs easily. Part of it being an ultra-thin lens. They reckon my brain will adjust so I'll give it another week but I'm not convinced my brain should convince me that dodgy sight is fine.

I got a new pair of glasses which I'll be picking up on Monday. I remember the "ground isn't where it should be" effect from last time, and it's very disconcerting until your brain learns to compensate. Seeing things more sharply is always a nice surprise though.

I'm glad it's not 28C over here - I'm having a hard enough time as it is when it reaches 18C.

I have found that it does take a couple of days to compensate, when the same thing has happened to me; both visually and where the lenses are. It is both a relief and fascinating that the brain can do this for you.
