Are people seriously this upset about the death of the Crocodile Hunter? Prior to this, I'd only heard him spoken of in terms of it being unbelievable he hadn't been killed by animals yet.

I think it is that he was an amusing character to people, who aren't like us, you know the soccer moms and family type people.

It's generally weird when anyone famous dies. Plus, he was sort of like a cartoonish character, and then he died, like real people do. Which is something that seemed like it would never actually happen. Also, he had a family! And he was filming this show for his daughter or some such. I demand that you feel bad.

Yeah, I had the same reaction. Most of my friends page was filled with strange outpourings of grief. It is too bad, but not this bad (unless you actually knew him):
