Move to Romsey

Aug 14, 2018 12:26

Yesterday they got the news that a room was free in Romsey Hospital for me to have rehab. This is less than ideal as there are no public transport links between here and home (a problem I had while at school when most of my friends lived this side of Eastleigh making it impossible to see them out of school hours) It would take a minimum of three ( Read more... )

I will need to remove the content advisory filter from my posts - it isn't as if any of my posts these days need it.

It is good to hear from you. I flaked out yesterday evening, then suffered some really bad reflux, so I sat up all night :( Trying to get on now, but was a bit shaky this morning. Hopefully I will get at least one of the jobs that need doing finished by the time you get home.

Well, it is nice that you have the potential to watch some TV at this place, but the wifi situation is typical - can you get the password using your data, then switch? Whatever, I will try and call you later, once you have had a chance to settle in.

Love and hugs

I basically crashed once I was settled in. Today has been busy with the physio, rehab worker and consultant all wanting my time. The consultant thinks that I will be in here for at least a week but not two. But it's getting easier to get up by myself providing I haven't been sat too long so that my hip stiffens up, so hopefully they will decide I can come home sooner rather than later.

Love you.

I love you too.

I spent most of Tuesday crashed out for one reason or another, got frustrated with myself and C, had a screaming match, got nothing done. C wouldn't let me talk to OT/Physio, tried to tell me what they wanted, when I'd already written most of it down, remembering the last time. I needed to ask about some kind of support cushion for you (C didn't mention that) then threw the idea of a mattress at me!!!! I wasn't allowed to speak on her phone, so I have no idea of what is meant or timescale - then she wonders why I stress out. Can you find out more?

I want you home, I miss you, even though you don't seem to want to talk when I visit. But just try not to get too bored/frustrated, get stronger and things should be easier when you get home. If it is only about a week, C will still be around for a while (((gentle hugs)))

Well, that situation certainly has some plusses and minuses. I hope you are well and home again soon!

Hospitals/rehabs are never perfectly suited to anyone because they try for everyone. I hope you can get yourself home soon.

The hospital sounds nice, but I don't understand why the bed height is so low. Do you have to sit on the side of the bed to be able to eat your meals? Personally when I was in hospital that was the way I always preferred to eat. LOL! I'm such a short person that trying to eat with the table over the bed always felt like my chin was only a few inches from my food.

I hope you will be able to go home soon, and I know D will be glad to have you there. Hopefully your rehab will go smoothly and well. Take care of yourself and just know I'm thinking about all of you.

~hugs you gently~
