isn't it funny how you can look back on something that happened a long time ago, something you thought was totally devastating, and think of it as a good thing? it's weird how you can feel horrible at the moment, but in time you will realize that it was for the better. much better. but on the other hand, something that you used to think was ( Read more... )

I'm sure yours is a completely different situation, but Hurricane Andrew was like that for my family. It destroyed half of Miami, including my home, but it forced us to move to Alabama. I'd probably be some punk with no concept of band if I still lived in Miami.

you just summed up my middle school years.
they were still the worst three years of my life. (save a few things like gym and the real friends i made)
but i wouldn't be who i am now if i hadn't gone through that stuff.
also, i might still be a cheerleader if it wasn't for hating every minute of the sixth grade.
