For a laugh

This was just forwarded to me by a board member for the opera company.

I'm still giggling...

Wheee! YAY!

Theatre is far more dramatic off stage than on. :D

Oh, that's fabulous.

("Dark Night"? My high school definitely never did that that I know of.)

We do it at the opera company. A night of R&R before the big opening. I don't know what that definition is talking about, though. I sleep like a baby. :)

You are so welcome!

What did you do when you worked in theatre?

:D :D

Nearly everything. Acting, set construction/design, lighting, sound... I'm not at college this year, but the more I miss it the more I'm thinking of pursuing it professionally.

If you miss it that much, definitely pursue it. Speaking as someone who has worked in theatre since my wee-years, do what makes you happy. We've only got one go-around in this life. Definitely go for it! And if you ever need help, want me to look at your resume or just want to discuss different ideas you have, always call on me. I'll lend a hand wherever I can.

Oh dear. I'm inclined to ask what happened, but not sure if I should.

I fell off the back of an 8 foot platform once, landed right on my butt. I dusted myself off, walked back on stage and did the scene as if nothing ever happened. Only after I walked off stage, did my actor friend point out that I had split my dress all the way up to my tushy. Nice.

*chuckle* it was, like twelve years ago - doing Noises Off! - I was Poppy and the scene had me leaping over one of the other actors... unfortunately she laid down closer to the edge of the stage than she had Every Single Rehearsal - so I landed on the edge, toppled off, and kept running across in front of it and climbed back up like it was supposed to.

Oooo *laughs* nice 'Wardrobe Malfunction' ;)

*glomps*

Dude. You pulled it off perfectly! You're a natural at improv!! That's fabulous. Noises Off is hysterical and absolutely insane.

Have you ever seen (or heard of) All In The Timing? If not, you should definitely lay your hands on a copy of the script. It's out of this world funny!!

YAY! That's awesome. I hope she and her friends like it! These jokes really help the theatre world "seem" like a saner place (than it really is).
